Our lawyers have extensive experience in advising and representing healthcare professionals and facilities on a variety of matters. Our experience includes defending claims brought against healthcare professionals, hospitals and clinics in Court as well as representing doctors and dentists at disciplinary inquiries before the Malaysian Medical Council and the Malaysian Dental Council. These cases include all manner of complaints made against healthcare professionals, such as allegations of misdiagnosis, surgical errors as well as inadequate advice as to the risk of complications.

Apart from representing healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities in the courts and disciplinary tribunals, we also advise healthcare practitioners in managing and resolving complaints lodged by aggrieved parties before the matter escalates to the courtroom. In this regard, we are experienced in resolving matters via pre-trial negotiations and at pre-trial mediation.

We are well versed with the relevant legislations in the healthcare industry such as the Medical Act 1971, the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 as well as the Malaysian Medical Council Guidelines, and regularly advise our clients on compliance with these legislations.

Our lawyers also regularly provide talks and seminars on medico-legal issues, including legal issues surrounding the current Covid-19 pandemic.
