Juen is a litigator whose practice involves corporate, commercial, and civil litigation. He has appeared at all levels of the Malaysian courts, including as lead counsel appearing before the Court of Appeal, High Court, Subordinate Courts, and the Industrial Court.
Juen has extensive experience representing financial institutions in claims for the recovery of debt, the enforcement of securities, the restructuring of facilities and insolvency. He is also experienced in defending claims of fraud, breaches of fiduciary and statutory duties and claims for negligence. He has also acted for receivers and managers and advised companies on corporate rescue mechanisms.
Juen has also represented companies in a variety of commercial and corporate disputes, including director and shareholders’ disputes involving claims of breaches of fiduciary duties, oppression, secret profits, conspiracy, and just and equitable winding up.
Juen’s general litigation experience includes defamation actions, landlord and tenancy disputes, professional negligence suits and trustee-related matters. His experience extends to industrial relations matters where he advises and represents companies in employment disputes.
In 2020, Juen expanded his practice to insurance law, with a focus on life insurance. He regularly advises and represents life insurance companies with regard to insurance claims and agency-related matters.
